South Africa has weathered, and is still weathering, a long storm of ethical crises, but we believe that open communication, education, and compassion can help us find our moral compass again. Ethics is EVERYONE'S business. Through our Ethix in Schools Workshops and the Talking Ethix Podcasts, we bring learners, educators, and changemakers together to talk openly about truth.

Educational Leader | Advocate for Equity & Inclusive School Culture
My journey in education began in 2008 as an intern at a leading boys’ preparatory school in Johannesburg, where the “education bug” took hold and never let go. Since then, I’ve held senior roles at two of South Africa’s most respected preparatory schools including Head of Grade 7, Head of Pastoral Affairs, Equity & Transformation Lead, and Head of Senior Preparatory. My work spans academic excellence, pastoral care, and transformation, always with a child-centred approach that places the learner’s voice at the heart of every decision.
But my story starts long before the classroom. I was born during Apartheid and raised by my mother, a domestic worker, in a home filled with warmth, mutual respect, and cultural harmony. Her employers became family in every meaningful sense, creating a nurturing environment where shared meals and open dialogue shaped my deep belief in the power of inclusive spaces. That upbringing taught me to engage with empathy, honour each individual’s dignity, and treat all people with equal respect. These values continue to guide my leadership today.
I believe my life story is a powerful reflection of the values our democracy aspires to uphold. It shaped my ability to engage authentically with people from all walks of life and inspired my lifelong commitment to education that values every learner’s voice.
Throughout my career, I’ve remained deeply involved in the full spectrum of school life, coaching first-team Rugby and Water Polo, supporting learners on international cultural tours, grade camps, and inter-school debates. My leadership is grounded in restorative discipline and driven by the creation of “Thinking Cultures”, school communities where learners, educators, and families grow through reflection, empathy, and resilience.
Ethics Officer
I’ve always tried to follow my passions-whether or not they’ve been the easiest or most obvious paths to take. From playing flute in an orchestra and later percussion and keys in a band, to performing in award-winning theatre productions, to founding a communications and industrial theatre company, my journey has always been about creativity, integrity, and meaningful connection.
Over the years, I’ve served as a corporate keynote speaker, a member and later Chair of a regional Rhodes Scholarship selection committee, and as EXCO Chair and current Board Member of 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day. Each of these roles has deepened my belief in the power of honesty, collaboration, and education to create lasting change.
During my time managing the Mandela Capture Site, I produced and performed in a series of Ethics Industrial Theatre shows for UNISA in partnership with The Ethics Institute-helping people engage with ethical issues in a more human and practical way. Those experiences laid the foundation for what I do today.
At present, I’m focused on Talking Ethix – A Schools Project and Podcast, a national initiative that aims to get young people talking about ethics, integrity, and the importance of truth in everyday life. Through candid conversations with educators, psychologists, heads of schools, and other changemakers, our podcast explores how we can better equip today’s youth to face moral challenges with courage and clarity.
The insights from these interviews directly inform the development of our Ethics Workshops for Schools, where learners are encouraged to find their voices, share their perspectives, and understand how ethical thinking shapes real-world decisions.
